Welcome to my blog, my friends!!

After being abandoned for years, my blog is eventually set up. Thanks to the new templates, it is so much easier to arrange my blog the way I want to a much more acceptable degree. Well, now it may not be exactly the best, but I am sure it will definitely be better and I shall be more willing to spend more time and efforts here.

Fangshan Rocks 1

This spot on Fangshan is gorgeous yet since every rock there is awfully slippery, I could not actually move around easily for too many different angles. As you can see, the rocks are simply out-of-the-world and it is absolutely frustrating when I got stuck most of the time trying hard not to fall.

Maybe I should try to find some kind of anti-slippery gear so I can actually function there to make some good shots!!!

Long Exposure of Chigu

Still feel ecstatic about this new spot...
Serene and gorgeous!! I am not being selfish but it is really annoying with a lot of others around!! I can move about to any positions I like without worrying I might be in someone's way to offend him. Most of all, this spot is just SUPERB!!!

Oh, one more thing, I had never expected the rocks to be so beautiful until I came this close to them.

Light is the most wonderful element when making not only landscapes but portraits too. Crystal always looks gorgeous with natural light in the bokeh background!!!

As you may not know, I have no flashes up to now and have no intention to buy one in the nearest future because I like natural lighting better than artificial lighting.

Anping in Fall Dusk

I have been away from this spot for quite a while because I had come here for so many times that I could not even remember the exact number. Well, I have to admit I was a little bored with it.

Anyway, since I don't have enough time to drive around shooting I think I may just revisit spots like Anping harbor. It is not all because I am forced to make do with it but because I also think that, after years of shooting, I believe I can, at least I should, come up images that can better interpret and depict these far too familiar spots.

A spot I have been away for quite a while yet I found it still appealing this evening. The tide was just right to elevate the boats to the perfect position for me to take shots with lower the angle too much.

The street lights came on at just the right time before I had to leave; then I got this shot with warm golden light in the left background.

Fangshan Reloaded (2)

Looks like another setting, right? Nope, it IS Fangshan still.

I am really amazed at how powerful the waves are; a lot of the rocks were thrown upto the beach by the sea devil.

Passing Touth

It to a certain extent reflects part of what has been recently haunting my mind deeply. I am seriously considering to retire or at least partly retire so that I can concentrate more on photography. Life is unpredictable and changeable. Life begins, life ends; mortals like us can never know why, how, where and when life is to cease forever. What is the purpose that one exists for? What does one should have before one dies, regret for having not fulfilled one's dreams or satisfaction for having all one's dreams come true? What is to be left behind after one dies?

Fangshan Misty Sea

A long exposure shot of Fangshan coast with waves turmed into mist and rocks reflecting the golden light of the setting sun.

I know it is fall now and it is not easy to come across a glamorous sunset like this in this season, but may the Almighty grant me a few more chances to witness His majestic and magical power.

For most photographers in Taiwan, summer is the perfect season to capture spectacular sunrise/sunset images but for me, I enjoy more when I come across a awesome scene in autumn or winter. Besides, during the two seasons, I can solely and easily enjoy my shooting trips without disturbance. After all, most people would not stand in the howling chilly wind for hours on the seaside.

"This week's census reports showed that income inequality was near all-time highs in 2004, with 50.1 percent of income going to the top 20 percent of households. And additional census data obtained by the Economic Policy Institute show that only the top 5 percent of households experienced average real income gains in 2004. Incomes for the other 95 percent of households were flat or falling."

今年,Bob Herbert 在 Losing Our Ways 寫到:

"There is plenty of economic activity in the U.S., and plenty of wealth. But like greedy children, the folks at the top are seizing virtually all the marbles. Income and wealth inequality in the U.S. have reached stages that would make the third world blush. As the Economic Policy Institute has reported, the richest 10 percent of Americans received an unconscionable 100 percent of the average income growth in the years 2000 to 2007, the most recent extended period of economic expansion."

如 Paul Krugman 在 Inequality in America 文末寫的:”They should be ashamed of themselves.“

Nanliao Harhor

Just as my Flickr friend commented on this image, "... the stones under the water are the cherry on the cake!" I am so fascinated with the mossy rocks, which are rare to see on western Taiwan, where seashores are mostly sandy.

The boats on this side of Nanliao harbor seem to more attractive than those on the other sides or elsewhere I have visited.

Overcast Lagoon at Dusk

Another blessed day for me!!

I wasn't expecting something this dramatic when I left home.I left home later than usual and by the time I arrived in Chigu, there were basically no clouds in the sky. What was worse was that there was a high wall of thick clouds right above the horizon, which I anticipated to be blocking the setting sun before it hit the sea surface.  I first checked this spot just to find it not that appealing so I tried the most frequented spot, where there is a giant zig-zag eel-trapping net. Sadly, I discovered that it was partly damaged by the typhoons previously that hit Taiwan.

Anyway, I decided to returned here to try my luck and see what assignment the Creator would give me today. When I hit the spot, the huge wall of clouds actually hid the sun before it reached the horizon. Therefore, when I set foot on the wetland, I was not expecting to shoot anything glamorous on the west since there was basically nothing and then I turned to south and found the gigantic clouds moving like an aircraft carrier.

Nature is never predictable.
