Welcome to my blog, my friends!!
After being abandoned for years, my blog is eventually set up. Thanks to the new templates, it is so much easier to arrange my blog the way I want to a much more acceptable degree. Well, now it may not be exactly the best, but I am sure it will definitely be better and I shall be more willing to spend more time and efforts here.
Merry Christmas! 耶誕快樂！
I drove by the brass band playing on the sidewalk across from the train station today while not knowing where to go for a shoot because it was a faceless gloomy winter day. The shiny metallic golden instruments instantly caught my eye and then I knew I had something great to shoot, instead of a dull windy beach.
They played well by the way.
Would never get tired of capturing cosmos!!
They are small and simple yet delicate and elegant. I especially like to shoot with proper back-lighting, which would make petals semitransparent.
One thing to share with you all, taking cosmos needs to be very careful with the saturation of colors, especially when shooting red or pink cosmos. De-saturation is often needed for cosmos to have a clean look and clear texture.
My first try of Lee's GND!!
I am hoping to enhance my image quality and thus Lee's filters seem perfect for my sunrise/sunset shooting. Black card can no longer satisfy my requirement of image quality.
This one here looks just perfect for starting. Give me more time and I believe I will master it as I did black card technique.
One night after I finished jogging, I grabbed my camera and got back there to take the shots. I did not stop until it was midnight because it was just fantastic to have no one around.
Crystal's portrait on a urban exploration. We started out in the afternoon that day and it was sunny so we had a wonderful harvest in Confucius Temple. Then we cam to this old temple to spent an hour or so trying to capture the light.
This was taken on the way out of the temple in a small alley. I was quite surprised to see the colorful bokeh background!! Amazing!!!
Another Carl Zeiss Planar T* 1.4/85 work!!
What else can I complain about this lens? No auto-focus? It really does not matter if you are not shooting for some specific purposes.
I had a pretty easy afternoon shooting trip around town with the lens that day!! Besides, bathing in sunshine is absolutely food for health!!
This setting was at he end of a small alley, which was my last target that night. So I was quite amazed to find what the lighting could offer - the shadow and colors - and how all the elements came together to display such a wonderful night scene.
